CLRA National Joint Conference: Québec RE3 Officially Postponed to June 2021
Reclaim, Restore, Rewild (RE3) is officially postponed to June 2021 To all RE3 2020 participants,
As many of you know from our announcement in early April, we rescheduled the Quebec Reclaim, Restore, Rewild (RE3) conference to June 19 – 24, 2021. We are disappointed to announce today that SWS will withdraw as a host of the rescheduled event due to prior conference commitments for 2021. SER and CLRA are pleased to continue their partnership with Université Laval to host this conference, which will now also serve both as SER’s 9th World Conference on Ecological Restoration (SER2021) and the 2021 CLRA National Conference & General Meeting. All three societies look forward to partnering again in the future, and we deeply hope that members from all the societies will still participate in this event as peatlands are such an important wetland component of Canada’s landscape.
Moving forward, we are internationalizing the conference and inviting participation from the global community to fit SER2021 objectives while maintaining the Reclaim, Restore, Rewild theme. Exciting RE3 events, like field trips, the high-level panel on the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, regional cultural activities, and a focus on wetland restoration will all remain part of the conference.
We were thrilled to receive more than 800 abstracts for RE3 before we had to postpone. All approved abstracts from 2020 remain accepted; we also recognize that some of you may need to withdraw. If you previously registered and/or had an accepted abstract, symposium, workshop or training course proposal, we invite you to click on the button below for information specific to you and your options for continuing or withdrawing at this point in time.
We will reopen a global call for symposia, workshops, and trainings on
August 3, 2020. Registration will re-open on
November 13, 2020; we will continue to send out emails and update our website with the new conference schedule and deadlines, including deadlines for later “penalty-free” withdrawal for those who made submissions before COVID19. Because we are providing this flexiblity, we strongly encourage you to maintain your abstract and registration in the system even if you do not yet know for sure if you can participate next year.
