The Alberta Chapter of the Canadian Land Reclamation Association (CLRA) will be hosting its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference in Edmonton, Alberta from Wednesday, February 22 to Friday, February 24, 2023.
Our theme this year is brought to you thanks to several requests from members through feedback surveys. We couldn’t agree more that recent years have seen a significant shift in our industry. It seems like we’ve gone from squeezed budgets and pleading our cases, to struggling to find the time and resources to fulfill the demand. The changing social and regulatory climate have spurred a significant influx into the industry, and we have all evolved in response to meet the ever-changing landscape.

Sponsorship opportunities
The CLRA Sponsorship Committee has been working with the Edmonton Convention Center (ECC) to provide new and exciting sponsorship opportunities!
Super Booths – you will have the ability to be creative in this bigger space and have the ECC assist you in making your booth space memorable.
Lounge – we will all miss the piano bar in Red Deer, so we are creating our own at the ECC! Drinks, snacks, and storytelling will be able to take place in this brand-new Conference area.
Break Out Room Level – we will have pop up banners in this level – another visual opportunity for your company branding.
Wednesday Workshop – we are bringing it back to the conference and hope it will generate good conversation and learning opportunity.

NOTE: All sponsorships will be on a first come first serve basis and determined by the time stamps on the email correspondence. Please pick the top five choices you wish to sponsor; in the event your primary choice is taken. Please read the rules and guidelines carefully as failure to comply may result in losing your requested sponsorship of choice. A limited number of sponsorships are available; we thank all who apply.

Let’s Get Connected!
We’re pleased to welcome back the CLRA Alberta RandomCoffee program once again for 2023!
RandomCoffee is back for CLRA Alberta Members! Connect with your peers and colleagues alike through RandomCoffee from January through March 2023! For those folks that are new to it, or need a refresher; RandomCoffee is an opportunity to meet other colleagues in the industry over a coffee or tea (or beer if you like!). Every week, registered participants will be “randomly” matched and invited to connect with one another. The program will help you re-connect with those you know, as well as meet new people, just like you normally would at various events! You are encouraged to meet in person, or virtually, whichever suits your needs and time allowance. Participants are from areas across the Province so look forward to expanding your current networking group and creating new contacts.

How it Works
Starting the week of January 9, 2023 (so register early to get the full benefits!), participants will receive a weekly email asking whether you’d like to “opt-in” to the program.
If you “opt-in” (simple as a mouse click!), a few days later, you’ll receive a match email connecting you with another member.
Once you receive your match, it is up to you and your match to schedule a day and time that week that will work for you to meet up.
You can meet via whichever platform works best for you! Microsoft Teams, Skype, Zoom, Google Meet, etc. You may even choose to meet in person if your match lives/works nearby, but they could be located anywhere in Alberta.
You’ll even have your own profile that you can view and edit any time. It tracks who you’ve chatted with so you can always refer back as you need.

Gerry Bourassa Award Nominations

The CLRA Alberta Chapter is pleased to acknowledge and commemorate Gerry Bourassa through our Exceptional Volunteer Award. Gerry was a member, volunteer, and friend whose love for the environmental industry and passion for volunteering touched our CLRA community. It is a goal of the Alberta Chapter of the Canadian Land Reclamation Association to recognize outstanding individuals who follow in Gerry’s footsteps and volunteer for their communities, associations, and institutions.
